It has been a while since the very first gaming console was invented and through the years, different gaming consoles have been developed to support the gamer’s need for it. Super Famicon, Sega Console, Gameboy, PS1 are just few of the consoles that catch gamer’s interest. And now, the introduction of one of the latest gadgets in the gaming industry just made quite a great impact in the whole planet.
Back in May 16, 2005, Sony officially released the much-awaited PS3 the first time at the E3 conference and demonstrated the console’s specifications through sample games such as Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and a sample video footage of Final Fantasy VII, using the latest graphics available.
The first product has the specification of as follows: HDMI ports, three Ethernet ports and six USB ports though this was changed a year later to just one HDMI port, one Ethernet port and four USB ports to minimize cost. It was initially introduced in Japan last November 11, 2006 and then in North America that same year.
These are the 20 GB and 60 GB model costing around $499. It includes an HDMI port, Wi-Fi internet, flash card readers and a chrome trim with the brand logo coated in silver and over 81,639 PS3 consoles were sold within that same day it was introduced.
Sadly, due to some unforeseen events, the global launch was delayed until March that is why Sony advised their clients about the refund eligibility for prepaid orders. On the other hand, they can still push through their pre-orders. Though this is not a good start for Sony’s newest product, Sony was still confident about the console’s capability to gain the favor of clients.
To add on these mishaps, PS3 also received negative feedback such as no enough interesting games and having high price tag. This resulted to the unfavorable marketing status against the competitors XBOX and Wii that have economical price and better games.
Also, some even said that it was not compatible and developers find it difficult to program. Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick also confessed that Nintendo’s XBOX and Wii have higher sales rate. However, despite all these negative feedbacks from around the globe, there are still some who believe in the capability of the PS3 and what it CAN do rather than what has happened in the past. The fact remains that PS3’s remarkable quality is something that gamers can look forward to and it’s just a matter of time before great games will get developed for the said console. Even so, there are a lot who believe that the PS3 is one of the must have gadgets of this time despite the limited availability of good games.
On the other hand, Sony also developed another version of PS3 to support the downtrodding sales trend of their first product. Sony’s new product is called PS3 slim gaining more positive feedback as opposed to older version and it has increased the volume of sakes in less than one day after its first release. With it’s low-power consuming system complimented by a more reasonable price, clients and gamers alike, find it more efficient for their gaming needs and the only criticism that it got was it’s slim, “ugly” appearance, comparing it to the more well-suited appearance of the actual PS3. Generally, repackaging PS3 proves to be a right move for Sony and if all continues to be this way, they will be able to regain what they have lost.

January 27th, 2010 Paul Rone-Clarke The premise of Warcraft “back in the day” was “grind mob, get XP, take loot, sell loot, level up – repeat”. So off you go. Hoping for a “Green” or “Blue” to drop to boost your hourly gold rate. Perhaps you have researched on the web, and know what “uncommon” items are possible in your area. Doing this you can have a good idea of your hourly XP and gold rate.
What other factors determine your gold and XP throughput? Are you aware of the factors that can seriously affect your performance? Are you, in fact, handicapping yourself by over-reaching?
One of the main gold sinks is repair. Now we all know that repair starts off at a very low level, a couple of silver to get your full level 15 kit back to pristine condition, great. At level 80 this could rise to 10g or more (depending on how late you leave it).
But you are encouraged by the games mechanics to always push your character hard. Level fast, get to better areas, get more valuable loot. The risk is getting to level 10 and thinking;
“I’ll take on those level 11 and 12 mobs”.
It works for a few minutes, then three of them catch you, and you’re dead.
But you were driven to do this. The whole game shouts at you “Advance – Advance” so you did.
In fact this is not a good idea at all. The best way to level is against mobs that are one or two levels below you. Mobs that you comfortably manage in groups of three or four.
If you add it up you will see that grinding mobs up to four levels below your current level is ideal. They will give you almost the same XP as mobs your own level, and you can run through them killing several at once. That way you get more experience and more loot per hour.
The “crushing blow” rule works here. But in reverse. The magic number of levels a mob can be below you and allow you to still effectively level is 4. So at level 50 grinding 46-50 mobs is ideal (in fact 47 and 48 would be the sweetspot XP per hour wise)
Don’t be concerned about missing higher level loot either. The loot might be slightly better, but this is more than countered by the fact that you will kill (and therefore loot) far fewer mobs at a higher level.
Kill more mobs (more mobs = more loot) you will actually make more gold killing mobs a couple of levels below you.
I know it’s macho to push yourself, but do you want to level as quickly as you can, spending less on repair and making more gold from loots..Or do you want to be macho?
